A U.S. appeals court has rejected the notion that federal airport screeners are immune from lawsuits filed by aggrieved travelers. In a 9-4 decision, the Court of Appeals in Philadelphia ruled that Transportation Security Officers, given their authority to conduct invasive searches of travelers, are essentially law enforcement officers and as such aren’t covered by the immunity granted to most federal agencies and employees. Contigo Recalls 5.7 Million Kids Water Bottles ‘Potential Choking Hazard’

Check your kids' lunchboxes and backpacks. Contigo announced Tuesday that it is recalling the lids on 5.7 million of its Contigo Kids Cleanable Water Bottles because the spouts pose a potential choking hazard. According to the voluntary recall notice posted on the Consumer Product Safety Commission website, the bottles were sold at retailers nationwide including Target, Walmart and Costco between April 2018 and June 2019. "Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled water bottles, take them away from children and contact Contigo for inspection instructions and a free replacement lid," the recall notice states.
