An unidentified 25-year-old man was hit by a southbound 2 train and pronounced dead at the scene, the New York Daily News reports. The fatal accident happened before 11pm at Chelsea station at 23rd Street and 7th Avenue on Wednesday night. Police said Burgess Moore, of New Britain, Connecticut, was reported missing shortly before the wreck. Investigators say he drove his Subaru Legacy north on the southbound lanes of the Wantagh State Parkway, crashing head-on into a Toyota Rav 4, driven by a 48-year-old man from Long Beach, police said. Over time, the plastic coating on headlights can become so clouded or yellowed that they give off only 20 percent of the light they had when you first bought the car, the AAA study says. That puts drivers at great risk of crashes as their car ages.
