Disney Recalling ‘Toy Story 4’ Toy Over Choking Hazard
Disney yanked thousands of the plush toy “Forky” — featured as a sidekick in “Toy Story 4” — from the shelves because they pose a choking hazard, officials said Tuesday.
The company recalled 80,000 of the stuffed characters over their detachable “googly” plastic eyeballs, which pose a threat to youngsters who could swallow them, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Parents can return the 11-inch, $20 toy to any Disney Store or Disneyland Resort theme park retail store for a full refund, according to the firm, which issued a voluntary recall, officials said.
Along with its eyes, the plush toy has Gumby-like poseable arms, rainbow art on its foot and a big blue smile.
No known injuries had been caused by the toy as of Tuesday.
In the computer-animated comedy, Forky is a spork-turned-toy who embarks on a road trip adventure.
